Don Ross and Trevor Gordon Hall

Great show at the Opera House last night!  Don Ross and Trevor Gordon Hall were both amazing!  It is mind-blowing to see what a guy can do with a guitar.  Matteo Palmer was great as well.  He really set the tone for the night with his set.  His original song, "Journey of the Wandering Minstrel", was mesmerizing and haunting and his duet with Trevor on Trevor's song, "Story", was absolutely beautiful.  Thank you Vergennes Opera House, thank you to the Farrell's and Allison Rimmer, thank you to Ron Rost, Andy Smith and Rowan Kamman, and thank you to all 3 artists for all you did to provide a very special evening.  Please remember to support the Vergennes Opera House.

Saturday June 15th

On Saturday June 15th, guitar virtuosos Don Ross and Trevor Gordon Hall will be performing at the Vergennes Opera House. Don Ross burst onto the acoustic finger-style guitar world in the mid-1980's and has been wowing crowds since. He is the only 2 Time winner of the American Acoustic Guitar Competition and has several critically acclaimed records to his name. Trevor Gordon Hall plays an acoustic finger-style guitar that mixes blues, jazz and world music. His melodies are deep and hypnotic and he has carved out a musical niche with his blend of acoustic guitar and kalimba (finger piano), creating a sound all of his own. The evening of music will begin with a short set by Vergennes' own finger-style guitar player and up and comer, Matteo Palmer, who was able to arrange this show himself. Doors open at 7:30 PM and the show starts at 8 PM. Tickets are $20.00 in Advance and $25.00 at the door. Tickets are available through the Vergennes Opera House. So come out and support the arts and your local Opera House. It will be a fabulous night of music with some of the best acoustic guitarists in the world.

I am really looking forward to the Don Ross/Trevor Gordon Hall show at the Vergennes Opera House on Saturday June 15th.  These are two of the best acoustic finger-style guitar players around and they will be performing in our own backyard.  Matteo Palmer will be opening and was the person who got this show rolling.  It will be another great show like the Acoustic Encounters show last year.  We are really hoping for a good crowd to support Don and Trevor.  Come on out if you are able.

Matteo Palmer and Will Ackerman

Just a quick shout out for Matteo Palmer.  He just laid down 4 more tracks at Imaginary Road Studios last week, upping his total recordings to 8 at this point.  He is scheduled to be back in the studio in mid-June and hopes to record 3 or 4 more songs with the plan to have his first CD ready by the end of this year.  Nice job Matteo!

Congratulations as well to our friend, Will Ackerman (Grammy Award winning guitarist and founder of Windham Hill Records and Imaginary Road Studio), for recently winning 4 ZMR awards (the Grammy of New Age-World-and Acoustic music, very prestigious in that world).  He won 2 ZMR awards for his compilation CD "The Gathering", 1 ZMR Award for his production of the recent Todd Boston CD (Record of the Year) and he was also awarded the very first ZMR Award for "Lifetime Achievement in Music."  Very Cool.  Way to go Will!
